Royal Palace visit and so much more....

Once we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City we were met by our Tour guides for the trip, Klaus and Sim, and travelled by bus to our Hotel.  After settling in we were back on the bus for lunch and then an afternoon of sight seeing.

First stop was the Royal Palace.  We had the opportunity to see the main reception rooms, the command center, radio rooms and bunker but what seemed to be the most interesting thing in the Palace was the air-conditioner in the small museum/shop!  After a pit stop at the Palace 'coffee shop' for a cold drink and some very entertaining music we boarded the bus to continue our tour.

Next stop was the Bitco Tower, what a magnificent view of the city you get from the 46th floor!

This was followed up with a visit to the Opera House, Post Office and the Cathedral.  A rest and shower was needed before we then left for dinner and then home again for another early night.  There are some very tired travelers after some very early mornings and a very busy afternoon. Tomorrow will be another sightseeing day visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels and then arriving in My Tho to settle into our accommodation for the next two weeks.

And yes it is hot and very humid, some are coping better than others and my 'nanna' hand held fan is now a  favourite item that everyone wants!
